In 2004, Armani and Emaar Properties, began in a partnership to own and operate a collection of luxury hotels and resorts in the world’s most exclusive cities and vacation destinations. The Armani Burq Dubai is the first of this collection.

Featured in the Burj Dubai building, the hotel is located on the 38th and 39th floor of the world’s tallest building. With the goal of promoting the Armani promise of “Stay with Armani”, the stylist hotel will offer guests 160 luxury hotel rooms and suites.  Additionally, conference space to the tune of 30,000 square feet and banquet facilities are available to serve business clientele and those requiring space for special events in the Armani Ballroom.  Dining will include a multi-cultured selection of fine cuisine from around the world.  There will also be an exclusive hot night club, the Armani/Prive, an Armani spa, an Armani flower shop, an Armani Galleria and an Armani/Dolce sweets shop.

This is the first of the Armani collection of fine hotels to open followed up by Armani luxury hotels and resorts in Milan, Marassi and Marrakech.  On the future agenda are Armani Hotels in New York, Shanghai and London.

Most people seem to think of the Middle East as a land of hot sun and sand. While this is true, the oil boom has also allowed the countries to prosper. The entrance of the hotel has white Tuscan columns and a spiral staircase covered in marble with strong influence from classical and art nouveau. Every suite has splendid living and dining sections, and office conveniences. Each hotel room is equipped with 42-inch Plasma screen TV, and everything is automated and remotely controlled. The Burj Al Arab is one of the most expensive hotels in the world. The cost of staying in a suite begins at US $1-2,000 per night. The royal suite starts around US $28,000.

The hotel has eight superb restaurants, each of which offers the finest foods ranging from seafood to modern international cuisine. The most elegant restaurant is The Oyster, located below the hotel. The Oyster is accessed via a submarine trip and features a large seawater aquarium with see-through glass. The Oyster was recently ranked as one of the top ten restaurants in the world. For those who want to see Dubai from above, a visit to the Skyview Bar will leave you with an unforgettable experience. At 200 meters above sea level, the view from the Bar provides a superb view at night, surrounded by choreographed color sculptures of water and fire.

The Burj Al Arab offers something for people of all ages. One has unlimited access to the nearby Wild Wadi Water Park and a wide variety of watersports at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Madinat Jumeirah. Guests can go on a desert safari, fly the hot air balloon, and experience various cultural and scenic excursions arranged by the hotel. Unfortunately, the Burj al Arab also charges visitors $150 to get a glimpse of the inside. However to get a free entry to the hotel, make a reservation to the hotel from a payphone. You will receive a reservation number that you will have to show at the gate. When you arrive, dress well, and avoid the restaurant.
